CAMS - The Calaveras Arts and Music Show is now taking nominations for this coveted annual recognition award to be presented at The Murphys Creek Theatre on January 20, 2024. The gala will include 49 awards presented to members of the local arts community in a diversified manner as prescribed by the California Arts Council directives through their grant programs. Creative Copperopolis produces these shows in conjunction with the Murphys School of Music and Murphys Creek Theatre for the benefit of the future of artists and curators in our Motherlode area. Each are nonprofit organizations.
The show includes the presentation of musical instruments gathered through the “Kids Looking for Unwanted Instruments” Program. This initiative collects used or unwanted musical instruments throughout the year offered by members of the community for donation to local deserving students of music. To date, we have gained a trombone, a piano, and two guitars. We’re looking for more! There will be a sponsorship banner, red carpet photo opportunity at the front entrance piloted by local professional photographer Craig Luchin.
The star-studded line-up of show presenters will be giving out the 49 Awards during the ceremony which will also showcase performances by dancers, actors, and musicians backed by house band leader Rod Harris. Nominations for artists or curators are being accepted by email submission at CreativeCopperopolis@gmail.com. With your nominations or suggestions, please include both your contact information and that of your nominee.
Tickets for this small intimate theater are limited and will be available to the Artists first, the Sponsors second, and then open to the General Public starting in December. For those who want tickets now, they are $49 reserved seats and are available in advance by email request at Richard@Varrasso.com.
